The scent of homemade jam reminds me of back in the days

Long time ago when my nana and grandpa still lived they had a little kitchen garden. My brother and I were often found here when we were little children.

My grandpa grew all different kind of berries here: gooseberries, blueberries, strawberries etc. We were often allowed to help pick the fruits. After that, my nana stuffed the whole basement with homemade jams. The whole house smelt like fruit perfume.

a superfood jam

I choose to add chia seeds because I did not want to use refined sugars this time. The chia seeds facing the fruit without having to add extra sugars or gelatin! Chia seeds are a superfood. They contain magnesium, omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, protein, fibers and so much more goodness!


Ingredients:

  • 400 gram frozen raspberries

  • juice of one lemon

  • touch of cinnamon

  • 4 tbs chia seeds

  • 2 tbs agave syrup


  1. Put the raspberries in a deep pan together with the lemon juice. ( I use a casserole). Let this heat up for 5 minutes or until the raspberries are soft.
  2. Crush the raspberries with a spoon.
  3. Now stir in the chia seeds, cinnamon powder, agave syrup and let this cook on a low heat for another 5 minutes. Put the jam in a big jar or a couple of little ones. Great idea for a gift!
  4. This jam is delish on a cracker!
