Tofu healthy or unhealthy?
Tofu has a lot of advantages, for example a high concentration of proteins, unsaturated fats and omega 6.
Yet there are apparently some minuses associated with the product. For example, it contains phytoestrogens, substances that imitate the action of the hormone estrogen and could cause a hormonal imbalance in the body. Research is still in full swing, but for the time being it seems that you do not have to worry about moderate consumption!
1 block of tofu (375 grams, drained weight 325 grams)
1 large hand of fresh basil
juice of ½ lemon
- ½ avocado
salt / pepper to taste
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp spicy paprika powder
4 slices of wholemeal bread
Finely crush the avocado in a bowl with a fork. Drain the tofu and crumble in the bowl. Chop the basil leaves and add it together with the herbs and lemon juice.
Spread a whole-grain sandwich with the avocado tofu spread and grill under the grill until golden brown.
Delicious with ketchup!
